The Arsenal captain also expressed his gratitude and satisfaction at being included in the squad, having just recovered from a a broken fibula.
"Every day I'm better. Now I can say I'm 100 per cent. The good news for me is that from the first day I trained with the team, I have not missed any sessions or had any physical problems. It's the best thing that could happen," he told a press conference.
"When you have the opportunity to give everything for the national team, that's what you do. I'm very calm and happy to be part of this team. I can only have words of thanks for being here and playing with these players. The only thing I can do is learn from them.
"There is an incredible quality of players on this team. We have to keep working and respect the decisions of the coach. I have to remain humble and continue to compete with my team-mates.
