Goal.com Poll: Should Fabio Capello drop Robert Green?
What does the England manager do with his keeper after terrible blunder?
By Anthony Sciarrino
Green fumbled a weak shot from USA midfielder Clint Dempsey over his own goal-line, gifting the Fulham attacker the goal that drew the Americans level just before half-time.
Ahead of England's next match against Algeria in Cape Town next Friday, we are asking YOU if Green should remain the Three Lions' starter or does David James or Joe Hart need to replace him?
Green was chosen as the starter by Capello after a close three-way race between him, David James and Joe Hart in the lead-up to Saturday's opener against the USA, but after the West Ham goalkeeper's blunder questions will be asked whether or not the Italian chose the right man to start.
Even if Capello wishes to stick with Green, it could be too big a risk after such an egregious error as the memory of the mistake prays on his mind for the remainder of the tournament.
Perhaps Green deserves a chance to work hard in training and show that he deserves another chance to prove that he is the best choice to start against Algeria.
On the other hand, pulling Green from the line-up could have a detrimental effect on him, destroying his confidence and affecting morale throughout the whole of the squad, not to mention potentially casting Green on to the same international scrapheap as Scott Carson and Paul Robinson.
Despite the error against USA, is Green still the clear number one for England and does he still deserve to start ahead of James and Hart?

"But, we came through. Obviously there were a lot of changes so it's good to get the result.
"Belgium are a very, very strong side who are going to be really good in the future. Vincent [Kompany] told me about them and said that they were coming good and I totally agree with him."
"[Gary] Cahill I suppose is slightly more of a concern for me because it is a jaw injury. We're desperately hoping the CT scan doesn't show any fracture and it's just going to be a bruising situation, which will be bad enough, but won't stop him taking part in the tournament. As far as John's [Terry] concerned he felt his hamstring a little bit. Again it wasn't a major thing when he came off but we still need to scan it just to be 100 per cent sure."
Suffice to say, if Cahill has broken his jaw, he won't play any part in the tournament.
