World Cup 2010: Fabio Capello: I would like England-Italy final
Capello has clear ideas as to his dream scenario...
By Salvatore Landolina
Capello was talking at the University of Parma as he gave a conference on Sport and Leisure Business.
"Is there a coach expiry in Italy? We will see. Italy are the world champions," he told the conference as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I will settle for an Italy-England final like [Marcello] Lippi says.
"I spoke to Lippi 15 days ago and we were very cordial."
Concerns have been raised over the way in which Italian football is run on a socio-economic basis. Capello had the answers.
"Working in Italy? No, it's much better in England or Spain.
"When you look at differences between the game in Italy, Spain and England, you have to start with stadiums.
"The stadiums in Italy are not owned by the clubs and this is the most important point to look at.
"In Spain all clubs own their own implants, and in England all the clubs own their stadiums. This is an added value.
"In England the dangers in the stadium are little, nothing ever happens and the stewards protect people. There is a sense of responsibility and this is very very nice."
