The former Lyon midfielder and Brazil international has slammed the accusations of drug use directed towards him, and is prepared to "attack" those who tarnish his nameVasco da Gama midfielder Juninho Pernambucano has threatened to take legal steps against anyone who labels him a drug-user following recent controversy surrounding a random drug test.
The former Brazil international failed to provide a sample immediately after a game, breaching the guidelines of the World-Anti Doping Code, but has now moved to quash any rumours of drug use, stating that he fully adhered to the typical procedures.
"During the match, two players are drawn to go to doping control. I knew it and as usual, I went into the locker room to take a shower with my bag," the playmaker told reporters.
"There is no problem. I did pee as normal. I'll go to court and in the process, I will attack the person who wants to [slander] my name."
Juninho could face a potential ban of up to two years, while his club could be fined up to €76,200.
