Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella will make just one change from the side that destroyed Ecuador in Saturday's test against Brazil, bringing in Jose Sosa for Sergio Aguero in a more defensive Albiceleste line-up than that previously on show at the Monumental.
The former Estudiantes trainer had made clear his intentions to switch to a 4-4-2 formation earlier in the week, and the only doubt had been whether to relegate Kun or Gonzalo Higuain to the bench in favour of Metalist midfielder Sosa. In the end, it was Aguero who gave way, the Manchester City man also unavailable for the Seleccion's next qualifier against Paraguay due to suspension.
Mano Menezes was left sweating all week on Thiago Silva's fitness, after the Milan defender suffered a knock in Sunday's 2-0 defeat at the hands of Mexico. The centre-back ultimately was ruled out, however, with Sao Paulo youngster Bruno Uvini partnering Juan in the middle.
There is one further change for the Scratch, as Manchester United defender Rafael enters on the right flank for Danilo.
Argentina (4-4-2): Romero; Zabaleta, Fernandez, Garay, Clemente; Sosa, Mascherano, Gago, Di Maria; Messi, Higuain.
Brazil (4-3-3): Rafael Cabral; Rafael, Juan, Bruno Uvini, Marcelo; Sandro, Romulo, Oscar; Neymar, Leandro Damiao, Hulk.
