Diego Maradona appeared to be set to resign as Argentina coach following the Albiceleste's quarter-final exit at the 2010 World Cup, but Pelusa has now revealed that he could very well sign a new deal after all.

However, Maradona will only ink a new contract if his entire backroom staff is allowed to stay on, too.

"I really want to stay, but it all depends on AFA president Julio Grondona. If they touch a hair of one of my guys, even if it's the masseur or the kitman, I'm going," said Maradona to El Show del Futbol.

"I want to continue the adventure but not with just anyone. I chose these people. I want to continue working with them.

"I already asked, and I will continue to ask, that Oscar Ruggeri joins me. It's a constant struggle. This is the first thing I will discuss with Grondona."

Grondona is reportedly far from happy with Ruggeri's involvement with Argentina's national side and the AFA president recently revealed that he's had a lot of problems with Ruggeri.
