Los Angeles Galaxy - Real Madrid Preview: 'World Football Challenge' in California

David Beckham will face one of his former clubs when Jose Mourinho's men visit the west coast of the United States for a much-anticipated second meeting between the two teams

The full squad that was called up for the tour will be available, including new signings Nuri Sahin, Jose Callejon, Raphael Varane and Fabio Coentrao. Angel Di Maria and Gonzalo Higuain are away on international duty with Argentina in the Copa America.

  • David Beckham helped Real Madrid to the Liga title in 2007, but was injured and replaced with the team down 1-0 in his final match, only to watch Madrid come back to win that game and clinch the title.
  • Galaxy star Landon Donovan's deflected shot against Spain in the 2009 Confederation Cup fell to Madrid's Sergio Ramos, who couldn't clear before Clint Dempsey slid in to put the game on ice for the Americans.
  • This will be the second time in as many years that the Galaxy and Real Madrid have faced eachother. Madrid won the 2010 match 3-2 after going 2-0 down.
  • The match will be played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The 2010 edition was held at the Rose Bowl.
  • This will be thefirst match against the Galaxy for Kaka (pictured, right), having missed out on last year's match through injury.
