The Finland international is seemingly on his way back to the Amsterdam ArenA after leaving the Eredivisie champions six years agoNiklas Moisander is on the verge of leaving AZ for Ajax, after both clubs reached an agreement over a transfer fee in the region of €3 million.
The 26-year-old centre-back had already agreed personal terms with Ajax, and will travel to Amsterdam later on Monday to undergo a medical.
"It's a matter of details now, but I expect that everything will work out fine," commented Moisander's agent Soren Lerby to Voetbal International.
The Eredivisie champions are in the market for defensive reinforcements because of the departure of Jan Vertonghen to Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer, and head coach Frank de Boer sees Moisander as the perfect addition.
The Finnish defender came through the ranks of the Ajax youth academy, but failed to break into the first team and left the club for Zwolle in 2006.
