Portuguese champions Porto are set to complete the transfers of defender Eliaquim Mangala and midfielder Steven Defour from Standard Liege for a total fee of £11.4m (€13m), Sporza reports.
The Champions League hopefuls were eager to add some more depth to their back-line and head coach Vitor Pereira had earmarked the 19-year-old Mangala as the perfect addition.
The centre-back had also been linked with Valencia, but Mangala preferred a move to Porto instead. The France Under-21 starlet will sign a contract until the summer of 2016 with the Liga Sagres giants.
Porto had also set their sights on a new midfielder because of the ongoing uncertainty about the futures of Fernando and Fredy Guarin, who are both being linked with summer moves, and they have now found their man in Defour.
The 23-year-old Belgium international, who had also caught the attention of Manchester United, will ink a five-year deal on Monday too.
Both sides have yet to confirm the transfers, but Liege are expected to say farewell to Defour and Mangala in a press conference on Monday at 17:00 CET.
