The world of football was rocked on Sunday when the Football Association of Wales announced that manager Gary Speed had passed away at the age of 42.

The former midfielder began his career at Leeds United in 1988, winning the First Division title with the club in 1992, before going on to play for Everton and Newcastle United, where he was part of the side that enjoyed success in the Champions League.

Speed also had spells with Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield United towards the end of his playing career, before becoming Blades boss after being forced to retire through injury.
