It looks like he has played his last game for Sam Allardyce's side as he took to Twitter to tell fans that he was leaving and that he was "disappointed" he could not play over the festive period.
The 32-year-old said on his official Twitter account: "Recovering slowly from the injury..loan with west ham will be finish in few days so disappointed that I didn’t took part in the last games."
In his first spell at Upton Park Benayoun scored eight goals in 63 appearances, and his current loan with the club could have been extended if all parties agreed to it.
He has only featured in 12 games for Chelsea after joining from Liverpool and was out on loan at Arsenal last season.
