The midfielder, whose cousin Edgar played for Juventus and the Netherlands national team, has completed a move to the League One club after his release from German side Augsburg

League One outfit Bournemouth have confirmed the signing of midfielder Lorenzo Davids on a free transfer following his release from German side FC Augsburg earlier in the summer.

The former Netherlands Under-21 international is the cousin of former Ajax, Juventus and Tottenham midfielder Edgar Davids, who was capped 74 times by the Oranje, and has put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

"AFC Bournemouth are pleased to announce the signing of Lorenzo Davids on a two-year contract," the south-coast club posted on Twitter.

The 25-year-old started his career with Feyenoord before moving to NEC in 2007, where he spent four years and made 131 league appearances.

Davids went on to make 20 appearances for Augsburg before he was let go after gaining Bundesliga experience.

The deal is subject to Fifa clearance and if approval is also granted by the FA and the Football League, Davids will become a Cherries player.
