Poll: Did Shinji Kagawa do enough against Liverpool to stay in Manchester United's starting XI?

The 24-year-old made only his second start of the campaign on Wednesday evening, while David Moyes admits he is still unconvinced by the midfielder's performances and fitness

A section of Manchester United fans got their wish on Wednesday evening as Shinji Kagawa was handed only his second start of the season as Manchester United edged past Liverpool in the Capital One Cup third round.

The Japan international is yet to feature in the Premier League under David Moyes this season, and with United lacking creativity in the final third, many have backed Kagawa to make the difference.

The 24-year-old looked comfortable in possession against Brendan Rodgers' side at Old Trafford but his evening was cut short as he was substituted for Adnan Januzaj after 73 minutes.

Moyes admits he is still unconvinced by Kagawa's displays and says the midfielder is still short of fitness.

"He did OK. I thought he grew into the game a little bit more," said the United manager after the match.

"There were bits which I was pleased with, and bits where we were looking for a little bit more. Overall, he's still getting back."

Should Kagawa keep his place in Manchester United's side for their match against West Brom on Saturday? Or would you drop the midfielder to the bench?
