Last season the Premier League enjoyed arguably its most exciting title race ever, and also boasted the winners of the Champions League. This term, however, has been a bit of a comedown.
Manchester United have won a record 20th league title at a canter, while no English sides made it through to the quarter-finals of Europe's elite club competition for the first time since 1997.
In their absence, Germany and Spain have taken advantage. Malaga made the last eight at the first time of asking, Real Madrid and Barcelona both made the semi-finals, while Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will contest the first ever all-German Champions League final at Wembley on Saturday.
What do you think? Are these events indicative of a fundamental shift in power among the major European leagues, or is it simply a bad season for English sides? Which league is the strongest overall?
