Another summer of spending in the Premier League saw some of football's top names move to English shores, including Shinji Kagawa, Eden Hazard and Santi Cazorla.
There were several stars who opted against a move, however, but who could have made the biggest impact had they switched to the English top-flight?
Hulk had been linked with a move to Manchester City and Chelsea, although neither club appeared willing to meet the Brazilian's astronomical release clause in his Porto contract. The Brazilian has moved on, however, with Zenit splashing a reported €80 million [£63.5m] to sign him alongside Benfica's Axel Witsel.
The Premier League's billionaires in blue were also thought to be duking it out over the signature of Edinson Cavani for much of the summer. He too rejected their advances, signing a new contract with Napoli despite the exit of strike partner Ezequiel Lavezzi to Paris Saint-Germain.
Another striker, another target for City and the Blues. Radamel Falcao has seen his stock rise after a stunning display against Roberto Di Matteo's side in the European Super Cup. The Colombian striker's father revealed that there had been significant interest from the Premeir League this summer.
Tottenham were very busy in the summer window, signing several top players as Andre Villas-Boas looks to shape his squad at White Hart Lane. A lack of strikers saw Loic Remy and Leandro Damiao targeted, the latter impressing particularly on British shores by top-scoring at the Olympic Games, but the pair decided to remain at Marseille and Internacional respectively.
Spurs were also made to pursue a replacement for Luka Modric, Villas-Boas looked to his compatriot, Joao Moutinho, as the man to strengthen his midfield. Despite a last-ditch offer for the playmaker, a dispute over the player's wages led to the collapse of a deal.
One of this summer's biggest transfer sagas involved Manchester United's chase of Lucas Moura. The Brazil international's club, Sao Paulo, were insistent that they would not sell cheaply, with the Red Devils eventually being priced out of a move. PSG had no such problems, however, and the 19-year-old will move to the Parc des Princes in January.
Who do you believe would have made the biggest impact in the English top flight? Would the goals of Cavani, Falcao or Hulk scintillated those in the stands? Or would we have been salivating at the creative talents of Moutinho and Lucas Moura?
