LIVERPOOL

Pepe Reina - 6 - A spectator in the sun in the first half, he was not asked to do anything until he repelled Duff's strike in stoppage time.

Glen Johnson - 7 - Incisive and impressive down the right, though his influence faded and he was unable to find a final ball.

Jamie Carragher - 7 - Booked for a cynical handball in the first half, and found Zamora's strength tough

Sotiris Kyrgiakos - 7 - Not as dominant aerially against Zamora as he might have been, though he bossed the England hopeful after the break. Wasted a great late chance, heading over.

Daniel Agger - 7 - Cool as you like at left-back, and rarely wasted possession.

Javier Mascherano - 7 - Drew a good save from Schwarzer with a 30-yard strike, and won some typical challenges in midfield.

Steven Gerrard - 7 - Was eager and lively from the off, with sharp passing and movement. A little frustrated about the lethargy of others at times

Maxi Rodríguez - 7 - Denied by Schwarzer in the first half, but ghosted into excellent positions

Alberto Aquilani - 6 - Grew into the game in the opening half hour, although his final ball was a little off at times. Had two useful attempts either side of half-time, but was replaced by Kuyt on 64 minutes.

Ryan Babel - 6 - Drifted on the edge of the game in the first half, looking a tad predictable as he came infield. Tested Schwarzer with a ferocious low drive on the hour, but was substituted for Benayoun as the game edged towards its conclusion.

David Ngog - 6 - Couple of smart early efforts, though the ball needed to stick a little better. Physically good against Hangeland, but did little in the second half and was replaced by the popular Daniel Pacheco.

Substitutes

Yossi Benayoun - 6 - Replaced Babel on 71 minutes

Dirk Kuyt - 6 - On for Aquilani with 25 minutes left, the Dutchman created a glorious chance for Kyrgiakos with a neat cross.

Daniel Pacheco - N/A - On late for Ngog

FULHAM

Mark Schwarzer - 8 - Did well to deny Maxi, and then Mascherano in the first half. Turned an Aquilani effort over the bar, and denied Babel after the break as Liverpool dominated. Kicking was a little lax at times.

Chris Baird - 6 - Quiet afternoon. He lost out to Babel a few times, but stood up well and employed a 'no-nonsense' attitude.

Brede Hangeland - 7 - Strong and tenacious against Ngog, and got the better of the Frenchman increasingly as the game went on.

Aaron Hughes - 7 - Swept well behind Hangeland and looked untroubled.

Paul Konchesky - 7 - Used the ball well at full-back, though found Johnson's trickery hard to get to grips with at times.

Jonathan Greening - 5 - Booked early on and was lucky not to collect a second yellow for a bodycheck on Johnson

Danny Murphy - 6 - Nerveless on the ball, but a little swamped by the pace of the midfield at times. Yellow carded for a foul on old mate Gerrard, and then given a fine reception as he was replaced by Dikgacoi late on.

Dickson Etuhu - 7 - Made some strong interceptions and used his athleticism to hurry Aquilani and co

Damien Duff - 5 - Started on the right and saw little of the ball. Switched to the left and found his ex-Chelsea colleague Johnson in fine form. Cautioned late.

Erik Nevland - 5 - No real impact on proceedings in the first half, and his frustrations grew in the second as he was bullied out of the game by Liverpool's centre-backs.

Bobby Zamora - 6 - Used his strength well against Kyrgiakos and Carragher, and looks a massively improved player. Replaced by Okaka in the second half.

Substitutes

Chuka Stefano Okaka - 6 - On for Zamora

Kagisho Dikgacoi - 6 - Replaced Murphy for last quarter of an hour.

Bjorn Helge Riise - N/A - Late sub for Greening.
