In Pictures: David Beckham toasts LA Galaxy's MLS Cup success

The veteran midfielder won his biggest, and probably his last, game in American soccer when his club beat Houston Dynamo, but all eyes will be on his next move as contract expires

David Beckham's move to the MLS back in 2007 caused more than a handful of raised eyebrows in Europe given that he was still in his early 30s and had just won La Liga with Real Madrid, with a host of clubs on the continent that would have welcomed him with open arms and a massive wallet, not to mention given him the chance to play regularly in an illustrious division.

We might never know whether it was the money, the lifestyle, or – as he claimed when he was unveiled at that famous home of football, the Home Depot Center – the challenge of conquering America that lured him across the Atlantic, but we do know that he will bow out of the game in the USA as a champion having led LA Galaxy to the MLS Cup with a win over Houston Dynamo on Sunday.

Here are the best pictures of Beckham's biggest night in Los Angeles before he buggers off back to Europe for one last big fat pay cheque. Go on Dave, you deserve it.
