Anybody who has studied the fixture list would realise Arsenal are still capable of winning the Premier League title. That’s the verdict according to Gunners legend John Jensen.

Talking exclusively to Goal.com UK, the Danish midfielder - who won the FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup for Arsenal during his four years at Highbury in the mid-1990s - believes that the north Londoners could now benefit from having a considerably easier run of matches compared with title rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.

Jensen, who frequently travels to London to watch his former team, points out that the Gunners’ next seven games feature six teams currently sitting in the bottom half of the table.

Alex Ferguson’s men, on the other hand, face tricky fixtures against Everton and Liverpool, while Chelsea host the likes of Manchester City and Aston Villa as well having to travel away to Old Trafford.

“These are going to be tough games for Manchester United and Chelsea which will be to the advantage of Arsenal,” says Jensen who was at the Emirates for the recent win against Liverpool.

“The importance of that game was huge – it was more than just three points. Now the Gunners can start believing again that they can win the title.”

Back in his playing days at Highbury, John Jensen was renowned for his inability to hit the back of the net – Arsenal fans will now be praying that his powers of prediction are more accurate than his shooting.

Arsenal v Sunderland
On Saturday February 20

Corresponding matches:

Wolverhampton v Chelsea
Everton v Manchester United

John’s verdict:

“I think this is going to be a big win for Arsenal, especially as the lads had last weekend off so they will be well rested. They will also want to bounce back quickly after losing in Porto."

Stoke City v Arsenal
on Saturday February 27

Corresponding matches:
Chelsea v Manchester City

John’s verdict:
“That win against Liverpool and Sunderland will mean Arsenal can go into this game with confidence, plus they’ll be looking for revenge following their loss against Stoke in the FA Cup. I’m sure Arsenal can win this.”

Arsenal v Burnley
on Saturday March 6

Corresponding matches:
Wolverhampton v Manchester United

John’s verdict:
“If you want to win the championship you have to win at home against Burnley. No doubt about that.”

Hull v Arsenal

on
Saturday March 13

Corresponding matches:
Chelsea v West Ham
Manchester United v Fulham

John’s verdict:
“This game could be very dangerous. It’s important Arsenal don’t go up there expecting an easy win and then not perform. I know sometimes as a player you can lose your concentration if you think a game is going to be a walkover. But if Arsenal stay focused they can get the three points at the KC Stadium.”

Arsenal v West Ham
on
Saturday March 20

Corresponding matches:
Blackburn v Chelsea
Manchester United v Liverpool

John’s verdict:
“It’s always tricky to meet a team that’s fighting for their survival so they may surprise Arsenal. I was at Upton Park for their last game. Arsenal were cruising at 2-0 but then they took their foot of the pedal and it ended 2-2. If Arsenal remain 100 per cent focused throughout they are definitely the better side and should win.”

Birmingham City v Arsenal
on Saturday March 27

Corresponding matches:
Manchester United v Chelsea

John’s verdict:
“This is one of the toughest games for Arsenal. They [Birmingham] are near the top of the league just beneath the Champions League places so they’ll be fighting for a place in Europe. Arsenal will have to be on top of the game but they should be able to get the job done.”

Arsenal v Wolverhampton
on
Saturday April 3

Corresponding matches:
Blackburn v Chelsea
Manchester United v Liverpool

John’s verdict:
”No doubt Wolves will be fighting for their Premier League survival but if Arsenal are still in with a chance of the title at this point in the season I’m quite sure they can win this game. Then the pressure will be on Chelsea and United  - the Gunners will be full of confidence.”
