Fabio Capello is currently in Moscow discussing terms with Anzhi Makhachkala to become the club's new manager, according to Sport Express.

The Russian paper claims that the Italian coach, who had been on holiday in Switzerland after his shock resignation as England boss on Wednesday, arrived in the city on Saturday and is now considering a lucrative offer to make a swift return to coaching.

There had already been reports on Sunday morning that Anzhi owner Suleyman Kerimov is willing to fire current boss Yuri Krasnozhan after less than two months in charge now that Capello has become available.

Krasnozhan signed a five-year contract with the club in December but Kerimov is said to be keen to secure a high-profile coach for the club, with the ambitious Russian billionaire having also been linked with moves for Rafa Benitez and Guus Hiddink.

Capello would certainly fit the bill. The former AC Milan, Juventus and Real Madrid coach is regarded as one of the top coaches in the world, and has already been linked with Inter since parting company with England because of a dispute with the Football Association over its decision to strip John Terry of the captaincy of the national team.
