Aston Villa to launch double-bid for Tottenham Hotspur pair David Bentley and Jermaine Jenas - report
Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill is reportedly planning a £15 million bid for Tottenham Hotspur duo Jermaine Jenas and David Bentley, according to the Daily Star.
Spurs are expected to sell several players this summer, as boss Harry Redknapp looks to raise funds for new signings ahead of the clubs first ever Champions League campaign next season.
Stoke City are also believed to be interested in Jenas and are contemplating a £7 million bid for the midfielder.
However, Tottenham are said to value Jenas at £5 million, and the Daily Star claims that a deal has been in the pipeline for the last 12 months.
Bentley meanwhile would cost around £10 million according to reports which would see him leave White Hart Lane after two seasons in London.
The 25-year-old joined Spurs in a £15 million deal from Blackburn Rovers in 2008 but has failed to recreate his impressive form following the move, often playing second fiddle to Aaron Lennon.
The former England international made just 11 starts for Harry Redknapp last term, with four substitute appearances.
A move to Villa may be tempting for the former Arsenal man, but he will be keen to play Champions League football next season with Spurs.
