Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp interested in Milan striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar and Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar - report
By Anthony Sciarrino
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has identified AC Milan striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar as potential transfer targets this summer.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is prepared to spend in the transfer market as Tottenham will be competing in the Champions League next season, according to the Daily Mail.
With captain Robbie Keane likely to move to Aston Villa, Redknapp believes that Huntelaar, a Holland international, could help boost Spurs’ attack next season.
Pienaar enjoyed a fine season with Everton this season and Redknapp could offer Jermaine Jenas to the Toffees to help bring the South African international to White Hart Lane.
Huntelaar joined Milan from Real Madrid for about £15million last summer but the Dutchman struggled this season, scoring only seven goals in 21 games for the Serie A giants.
With a year left on his current Everton deal, Pienaar would like to move to a club that will compete in the Champions League next season.
Should Milan sign Brazilian hitman Luis Fabiano from Sevilla this summer it could make Huntelaar expendable and give Spurs the opportunity to acquire the 26-year-old Dutchman.
