Stoke City to break bank in a £12m bid for West Ham United forward Carlton Cole - report
Stoke City are believed to be on the verge of breaking their transfer record by mounting a £12 million bid to acquire the services of West Ham United striker Carlton Cole.
The 26-year-old has reportedly been a transfer target for manager Tony Pulis for some time now, amidst interest from Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Birmingham City.
Previous reports had pointed to the Hammers slapping a £15m price tag on their hitman, but The Mirror claims that the Potters will also offer Dave Kitson as part of the deal.
The former Reading forward previously had a war of words at Stoke with his manager, following criticism concerning his attitude and behaviour. And it has been speculated in the past that the 30-year-old could be on his way out of the Britannia Stadium.
