thumbnail Hello,

Juventus' search for a striker has been narrowed down to Sampdoria hitman Giampaolo Pazzini and Atletico Madrid ace Sergio Aguero after Fiorentina rejected a £14 million bid for Alberto Gilardino.

La Repubblica reports the Viola turned down the bid from the Turin-based giants who have been keen on the Italian international. It is said the feeling in Florence is that Juve misjudged his value, and their mild attempt was promptly turned down.

Gilardino's Viola future has appeared uncertain at times. Last month club patron Andrea Della Valle warned the hitman he could leave if he did not believe in their project after he questioned ambition.

With 'Gila' out of the picture, Juventus continue to be linked with Pazzini of Sampdoria. Giuseppe Marotta and Luigi Del Neri are working on prising him away from Liguria, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

They will need to prepare a strong bid though as 'Doria have already said they will not accept less than €20m [£18.5m] for him.

Turin-based Tuttosport claims Del Neri could use Brazilian playmaker Diego as an axe to chop their way through to Atletico ace Aguero who has captured imagination there.

Rojiblancos boss Quique Sanchez Flores has already said his man will be staying in Madrid, but Juve are expected to try their luck if they fail to bag Pazzini.
