thumbnail Hello,

Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill is contemplating making West Ham United a £10 million offer for Scott Parker.

With Manchester City ready to ramp up their interest in Villa midfielder James Milner, O’Neill could look to Parker as a replacement for the young Englishman.

City are prepared to offer £25m for Milner, and while Villa will be keen to hold on to their young star, they might find a strong offer from the Eastlands club too tempting to decline.

Parker was one of the main reasons why West Ham were able to avoid relegation to the Championship this season, and Hammers co-owner David Sullivan identified the 30-year-old as the only player in the squad who is not for sale.

The former Charlton Athletic, Chelsea and Newcastle United star has three years left on his current deal and is valued at £12m, but whoever is appointed as the new Hammers boss - Avram Grant appears to be the favourite at the moment - will be keen to keep the midfielder.
