Real Madrid have sights set on Atletico Madrid star Sergio Aguero - report

Atletico Madrid superstar Sergio 'Kun' Aguero has become Real Madrid's first priority for next season, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.

The Argentinian striker and Diego Maradona's son in-law has a €60 million release clause in his contract with Atletico de Madrid, but as Marca reports in their headline today, Los Blancos may be prepared to pay every last centavo for a player they believe will compete for the title of 'best in the world'.

Aguero has had a tumultuous season with Atletico this year as the Spanish side crashed out of the Champions League and underwent a  coaching change. Whilst they have improved considerably, reaching the Copa del Rey final thanks in part to Aguero and strike-partner Diego Forlan, the squad has had great difficulty in La Liga.

Currently, Los Colchoneros sit in 10th place in the table, thus making the possibility of Champions League play very unlikely - a factor that could convince Aguero to make a big-money move.
