Arsenal on standby as Felipe Melo's Juventus future is thrown into doubt - report

Arsenal are on full alert as Juventus consider what to do with Felipe Melo at the end of the season, according to Il Corriere Dello Sport.

Last month Arsene Wenger suggested he was still keen on landing the Brazilian midfielder. And his wish may be granted by Juventus, who are pondering whether to sell Melo.

Juventus paid Fiorentina €25 million to beat Arsenal in the race for the Brazilian, but his poor season has led the club to reflect whether keeping him is a viable option.

They are now looking to sell up and cash in on their investment. Melo's stay depends on whether his ex-coach at Fiorentina Cesare Prandelli arrives in Turin.

He enjoyed good times with the Italian, and the feeling is that his career could be revived if the partnership is resumed.

On Sunday the midfielder reacted badly to fans following the 3-3 draw with Siena. Though he later apologised, his actions have fuelled speculation that his days in Turin are nearing an end.
