Avram Grant to walk away from Portsmouth at the end of the season - report

Portsmouth manager Avram Grant looks set to leave the club when the curtain comes down on this term, according to The Mirror.

The Israeli boss has stuck by the club during its darkest hours, and is believed to be a popular figure at all levels of the Fratton Park outfit.

The south coast club reportedly wanted the former Chelsea boss to commit to the cause and bring Pompey straight back up from the depths of the Championship next season, after having the noose firmly round their necks at the bottom of the Premier League this term.

However, Grant is said to be frustrated by all the false promises he has received thus far, that it is claimed he will not put pen to paper, and is consequently expected to walk away from the crisis-ridden club in the summer.

Meanwhile, Pompey are expected to meet with Premier League officials on Wednesday, and are expected to accept a nine-point deduction following the club's move into administration, without any legal action against the amputation of points that will likely see the club relegate.
