Arsenal defender Sol Campbell suspends £1.7m court action against Portsmouth - report

FA Cup: Sol Campbell and Harry Redknapp, Portsmouth - Cardiff City (PA)
Sol Campbell has agreed to stop a £1.7 million court case against Portsmouth after the south coast club admitted that their former defender is owed the money, claims the Daily Mail.

The current Arsenal man was intent on sueing the club for fees comprising unpaid wages, image rights and interest payments but a compromise was reached on Monday.

Neither Campbell or Portsmouth administrator Andrew Andronikou were at the case's court hearing, but Andronikou was reported as having contacted the 35-year-old's lawyers to accept that the Fratton Park outfit did indeed owe the 2008 FA Cup winner the figures claimed.

In turn, Campbell agreed to suspend his demands for the money until the club return to a sound financial footing.
