Stoke City to make £1.5 million move for Real Zaragoza winger Jermain Pennant - report
Stoke City manager Tony Pulis is reportedly ready to purchase Real Zaragoza misfit Jermaine Pennant in a £1.5 million deal when the transfer window reopens in the summer, according to The Mirror.
Pennant, a former student of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal who went on to feature for Liverpool, has appeared 14 times for Zaragoza this season but has allegedly fallen out of favour with manager Jose Aurelio Gay.
Gay has apparently run out of patience with the Englishman's poor attitude to training, and was rumoured to have hit the attack-minded midfielder with a fine following an inability to be punctual.
The Stoke rumours first emerged in The Sun earlier in the year, yet Pennant later clarified his stance and insisted he wanted to remain at the Aragon-based outfit.
"I have no intention of leaving," Marca quoted the player as saying. "Nobody has asked me and I don’t want to leave."
