Manchester United could welcome striker Dimitar Berbatov back to the starting line-up against Besiktas at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
The Guardian reports that the Bulgarian, who has been sidelined with a knee injury, could be in line for return despite his manager Sir Alex Ferguson apparently ruling him out of the Champions League game when he spoke at the weekend.
The player reportedly trained with the rest of the squad today, and the United coaching staff are apparently considering him for the game.
United do have problems at the back, though. Rio Ferdinand is absent as is Jonny Evans. John O'Shea and Gary Neville did not train this morning with the first-team squad either.
Ferguson also faces a choice between Tomasz Kuszczak and Ben Foster in goal as Edwin van der Sar is absent due to a knock on his knee he sustained in the 3-0 win against Everton on Saturday.
