Ryan Babel has reportedly stated his displeasure concerning his situation at Liverpool, claiming that he is considering leaving the club for greener pastures during the January transfer window.
The Netherlands international signed for the Merseyside club in 2007, after a fee believed to be in the region of £11.5 million had been agreed with Ajax.
However, the Dutchman has since failed to stake a claim in the starting line-up, and has often been branded as a 'supersub' due to his knack for scoring when brought on from the bench.
Presently, the versatile forward has expressed a desire to move on, should his situation at the club continue.
"We [Babel and manager Rafael Benitez] have agreed to look at my situation during the winter," the 22-year-old is quoted in The Sun as saying.
"If there's no improvement then, I have to be honest, I want to play somewhere else."
The former Ajax striker maintained that his talks with Benitez did not prove to be productive, as his quest to earn a spot as a regular starter reached a dead end.
"I have tried to talk to the manager but it isn't of any use," he said.
"I couldn't really do anything with the feedback Benitez gave me."
The striker's celebrations were muted when he scored a scorcher against Olympique Lyonnais in the Champions League.
"I don't play a lot so I can't be happy and I can't cheer out loud," he said.
"Certain emotions are blocked, they are pushed back by all the worries I carry with me.
"Sometimes I wonder how long I can sustain it but I will fight for my position - what else can I do?"
