The Serbian youngster is looking forward to testing himself with the Lisbon outfit after competing a move from Partizan Belgrade
The former Partizan Belgrade winger is determined to grow as a player at the Estadio da Luz and is looking forward to the challenge in the Primeira Liga after speaking with fellow Serb Nemanja Matic.
“I know I can grow with the team. I want to succeed at Benfica, playing in the Champions League and win titles," the 19-year-old told Benfica TV.
"I come from a winning team and this style of play, always looking for goals and victories, is a style that my style of play will fit in well.
“I spoke with Matic and he was telling me that Benfica are the club who have the most fans and are very organised, with a lot of tradition.”
The Eagles had announced the signing of the Serbia international on a five-year deal, but Partizan president Dragan Djuric claimed that he was going to Portugal on a two-year loan before heading to Chelsea.
When contacted about this potential development, the Blues were unavailable for comment.
