The Dubai outfit failed to win a single trophy in the Argentine legend's first season at the club, leaving his future uncertain after a mass resignation of the board of directors
The club and company's whole board of directors tendered their resignations this week, following a disappointing trophyless 2011-12 campaign - the club's first term under Maradona who joined on a two-year deal.
Al Wasl finished the Pro-League season in eighth, while last Sunday they lost the final of the Gulf Clubs Championship to Al Muharraq after winning the first leg 3-1.
The new board was announced this weekend and one of its new members, Hassan Al Marri, revealed to The National that Maradona's future at the club would soon be discussed.
"We will discuss the future of Maradona and all other topics related to the football team in the coming days," Al Marri said.
