Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is refusing to get involved with talk of his possible move to Barcelona so that he can focus on helping Spain at the World Cup.

The Gunners' captain is linked to a move back to the Catalan giants, where he played in the youth system before leaving for Arsenal as a teenager.

Fabregas has flourished into one of the best midfielders in world football and many of the top clubs would be interested in the Spain international.

Barcelona, who have already added Spain striker David Villa this summer, intend to bring Fabregas to the Nou Camp, despite already having a bid rejected by Arsenal this summer.

The Spaniard is believed to have requested that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger let him leave this summer, but Arsenal are unwilling to let their skipper go.

With Spain heading into the World Cup as one of the heavy favourites to win the tournament, Fabregas is keen to ignore any transfer news and focus on helping the Spaniards to glory in South Africa.

"I am isolated from it all and I am not thinking about anything else apart from the national team," Fabregas told Sky Sports.

"I have come to play a World Cup, which is the best thing possible for a player, with the same excitement that I had at the World Cup in Germany when I was 19.

"I am hungry to do something important and the only thing I will do is always give everything, with a lot of desire and make sure the hunger and competitiveness are never lacking."
