Rangers midfielder Lee McCulloch has recommended a move to bitter rivals Celtic for want-away Hull City star Jimmy Bullard.

McCulloch and Bullard played together at Wigan Athletic in the Premier League, and the pair remain friends. Bullard, 31, is Hull's highest earners and the club is eager to get him off the wage bill as they prepare for life in the Championship.

Bullard is expected to seal a loan switch to Parkhead in the coming weeks. Speaking to the Scottish Sun, McCulloch confirmed his ex-midfield partner had spoke to him on the telephone about the move.

"Jimmy's been on the phone quite a lot and he's asked me what it's like," McCulloch said.

"He's been asking what life is like in Glasgow and if he would enjoy it.

"I've told him he would be idolised at Parkhead. The Celtic fans would take to him the second he arrived."
