Barcelona target Cesc Fabregas: 'My Arsenal future? I live day-to-day'
Midfielder unsure about his immediate future...
By Matt Monaghan
Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas admits he is living "day to day" as he waits for his big-money move to Barcelona to be finalised.
The Catalan giants confirmed on Wednesday that a formal bid has been lodged for the Spain international, but the Gunners lately flatly rejected the offer — believed to be around £29m — saying they would not entertain further discussions.
Fabregas had previously made clear to Gunners manager Arsene Wenger he wanted to leave.
The north London outfit are believed to have slapped a £80m price tag on his shoulders, though Barcelona are expected to bid around £30-40m.
Speaking to reporters this morning, Cesc commented: "I try to live my future day to day and not think beyond that. Above all, I want to keep enjoying the football, which is most important.
"My future? Well ... I would love to go and win the World Cup in South Africa."
Fabregas is one of the highest-regarded midfielders in the world, and currently sits 25th in the Castrol Rankings despite a season derailed by a series of injury problems.
