Wigan Athletic striker Hugo Rodallega has claimed that Arsenal are trying to secure his services, while conceding that he is unsure whether or not he will ply his trade at the DW Stadium next season.

The Colombia international has for some time been linked with a move away from the club, with Liverpool and Arsenal being mooted as potential destinations amidst alleged interest from Stoke City and Birmingham City in January.

Now Rodallega maintains that the Gunners have taken their interest to the next level by lodging a bid to acquire his services.

"I don't know if I'll stay at Wigan but I do know Arsenal have made an offer for me," he said, according to The Sun.

The Latics' chairman, Dave Whelan, has in the past told Goal.com UK that the club will not stand in the way if the 24-year-old chooses to make a move to a bigger club.
