Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has revealed that his recovery from his horrendous broken ankle is progressing well.

The young Welshman had his joint shattered by a tackle from Stoke City's Ryan Shawcross least season and is still more than a year away from making a full recovery.

He is, though, feeling optimistic though as his recovery continues.

"I'm feeling good and positive. I can see little improvements so that's encouraging," he told Arsenal TV.

"I think the positive [of a serious injury] is that it can test what sort of character you are, whether you can come through it and come out a better person for it at the end. Hopefully that's what I can do."

There is still no definite date for the 19-year-old's return as he continues to build the strength in the joint to a point where he can run properly on it.

"I'm not sure when I will be back, they [the medical staff] can only take it every few weeks or every month," he added.

"Basically I just have to build my muscles back up to handle my body weight on one leg. As soon as that is back up and the bones heal properly, I can start running again."
