Carlos Vela hints that Cesc Fabregas will leave Arsenal and join Barcelona to win trophies

Silverware seems to be point of likely Emirates exit...

Arsenal striker Carlos Vela seems to think that Cesc Fabregas leaving the Emirates for Barcelona is likely, and has also stated that it could be good for the midfielder's career.

Interestingly, the Mexican international also hinted that he thinks Fabregas is moving because he wants to win major trophies, with the implication being that he does not think that that is possible at Arsenal.

"He will be going back to his country and it is good for him," Vela told reporters after featuring in this week's friendly international against England at Wembley.

“It is difficult for big players, they want to win trophies and play in games like the Champions League final. I’m sure he’s disappointed we have not won anything for five years."

Vela acknowledges that it will be a sad day for the club when Fabregas leaves, but insists that the final decision must rest with the Catalan star himself.

“Of course, it will be sad to see Cesc join Barcelona," he added.

"He is the star of the Arsenal team and it is better to have him. But it is a decision for Cesc.”
