Villarreal midfielder Robert Pires sure Arsenal won't allow Cesc Fabregas to leave, despite Barcelona's advances

Ex-Gunner predicts London stay...

By Zack Wilson

Villarreal winger Robert Pires believes that Cesc Fabregas will stay at Arsenal, despite the recent intense speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona.

Former Gunner Pires feels that Fabregas is such an iconic and imporant part of Arsene Wenger's side that there is no way he will move.

"I believe that Arsenal will not let go of Cesc," the former French international told Ona FM.

"Cesc is the image of Arsenal. I'll bet that we once again see Cesc in an Arsenal shirt."

Pires also clearly believes that the influence of Gunners boss Wenger could be the deciding factor in whether or not Fabregas is at Arsenal next season.

"If today we see a great Cesc, it is because Arsene Wenger has great confidence in him, so I do not see Cesc leaving Arsenal," he added.

Fabregas currently sits at No.25 in the Castrol Rankings, making him the fifth highest rated midfielder in Europe. Only Chelsea's Florent Malouda (21), David Silva of Valencia (19), Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos (17) and Chelsea star Frank Lampard (10) are higher.

Pires, sadly, finds himself way down the list at No.1294.
