thumbnail Hello,

Sunderland are favourites to sign Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha in the summer, according to the News of the World.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club after falling out of favour at Eastlands since the arrival of Roberto Mancini in December.

Onuoha, who will reportedly be available for £3 million in the summer, signed a five-year deal with the club last season and has recently revealed that Mancini has not handled him well since replacing Mark Hughes.

"It was good to see the club be so successful because I've been there for so long, but I almost feel like I was taking a backseat to a lot of the action," he told Sky Sports.

"When Mark Hughes lost his job, the new manager came in and I don't think he liked me, to be honest.

"I kept myself fit and I was being very professional but, in the end, it just wasn't to be."

Onuoha has been linked with a move to Aston Villa as part of the deal which could see James Milner move to Manchester City, while newly-promoted Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for the former England Under-21 international.
