Fulham chairman Mohamed Al-Fayed has admitted that he will not stop Roy Hodgson from moving on if he is offered the chance to manage England.

The former Finland boss has had a monumental season to date, taking the Cottagers all the way to the Europa League final - where they will meet Atletico Madrid in Hamburg on Wednesday.

The Craven Cottage boss has consequently been linked with succeeding current national team manager Fabio Capello.

"If it is England I don't mind having to sacrifice Roy," Al-Fayed told The Guardian.

"It is important England do well. When England came for Kevin Keegan (in 1999 when he managed Fulham to promotion from Division Two) I didn't have any objection.

"It gave us pride that England was led by an ex-Fulham manager."

Hodgson, however, will have no time to worry about his future, with the all-important final of the Europa League now little more than 24 hours away.
