Eidur Gudjohnsen keen on prolonging stay at Tottenham Hotspur
Icelander believes Manchester City clash will be fourth-place decider
By Adithya Ananth
Tottenham Hotspur striker Eidur Gudjohnsen is hoping to ply his trade at White Hart Lane again next term.
The 31-year-old is currently on-loan from Monaco, and has scored twice in 11 appearances for the Lilywhites. For his part, the former Barcelona player is hoping Spurs boss Harry Redknapp gives the nod for him to remain a part of their plans next season.
The north London club brought in the Icelander on-loan during the winter transfer window, and have the option of seeking an extension for another season.
"It was like a breath of fresh air coming here," Gudjohnsen said, according to The Sun.
"I'm already tempted to stay if the option is there. It's something we have to sit down and talk about at the end of the season."
Spurs have been doing well in the race for fourth place, beating Arsenal and Chelsea last week in the process. They now have to face another club from the so-called 'big four' as a clash with Manchester United looms large at Old Trafford.
But the ex-Chelsea man believes that the race will be settled when his side play Manchester City on May 5.
"We still have to go to Manchester City," he said. "It's potentially a final for fourth place."
