American rapper and Arsenal supporter Jay-Z has hinted at the possibility of investing in the Premier League club if such an opportunity should arise.
Jay-Z, whose name is Shawn Carter, has a stake in NBA (National Basketball Association) club New Jersey Nets, and is supposedly worth around £500 million.
As a Gunners fan, the rap icon has made it known that he would jump right into Premier League ownership if the right deal fell in his lap.
"I don’t know a lot about the business of soccer, but in the future if the right opportunity presented itself, then who knows? I am a businessman, and I will always look at an opportunity, and if it feels right great,” he said in an interview with Arsenal Magazine.
The musician also noted that he has been an Arsenal fan for a couple of years, having been swayed by former Gunner Thierry Henry's displays for the Londoners.
"It was about five years ago now," he said.
"When Thierry Henry was at the club I saw him play and I just thought he was an amazing player.
"Ever since then I have been a big fan of the club, following you guys, and still today you play the beautiful football that Thierry did. I think he had a real long term-effect on the team."
