Arsenal have appealed against the sending off Thomas Vermaelen picked up in Saturday's 2-0 win against West Ham United.
The defender was given his marching orders by Martin Atkinson during the first half, but the club are confident the decision will be overturned after an appeal which will be heard tomorrow.
“The FA has received a claim for wrongful dismissal from Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen," a statement on the FA website read.
“Vermaelen was shown a red card for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity during Arsenal’s match against West Ham United on Saturday 20 March.
“A Regulatory Commission will hear the claim on Tuesday 23 March.”
Arsene Wenger was quick to criticise Atkinson's decision after the weekend's game.
"I felt it was very harsh," Wenger told the press.
"We have seen this situation so many times in the game without it being punished at all."
If the club's appeal is successful, the Belgian will be available for Arsenal's clash with Birmingham City on March 27.
