Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has revealed that owner Roman Abramovich visited the players following their humbling loss to Inter, which saw the Stamford Bridge outfit bow out of the Champions League.

The Blues were trailing 2-1 from the first leg, but a tactically astute performance coupled with the determination to move further saw coach Jose Mourinho's men triumph 1-0 in the all-important second leg and progress to the competition's quarter-finals.

The Frenchman maintained that Abramovich did utter a single word, but only came in to show his support in the hour of need.

"He [Abramovich] didn't speak," Malouda told the press.

"Everyone was quiet in the dressing room because we were really disappointed.

"He came in because when we lose, we lose together. You don't have to blame anyone in particular, we lost together. Now we have to raise it and we will analyse the way we played and then win together."

Chelsea continue their hunt to reclaim the domestic crown, with a Premier League fixture against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.
