Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has expressed his anger with the referee's efforts in Tuesday night's Champions League clash with Inter.

The Blues went down to a Samuel Eto'o goal at Stamford Bridge as Jose Mourinho's Nerazzurri progressed to the quarter-finals with a 3-1 aggregate win.

There was no little controversy, though, as Didier Drogba - who was later shown a red card - and Branislav Ivanovic had their penalty shouts waved away despite appearing to be illegally impeded at a corner kick.

Such decision-making from the match official raised the ire of Chelsea captain John Terry, who confronted the referee at the final whistle and was later overheard saying that he was sick of poor officiating costing his side in Europe.

This is the third year running that the Londoners have crashed out with heavy blame being aimed at the referee by their senior players.

Malouda, who also had a penalty appeal turned down, said after the game: "I don't want to speak about the ref, otherwise I will be banned for one year.

"It seems that penalty was clear? Not it seems, it was and it was like that also in the first leg, but now it doesn't change anything speaking about it."

On the victors' performance, the Frenchman said: "Inter made a very defensive match in the first half, accepting to be dominated and then in the second half we had to attack and we lost balance. Then when they scored it was very difficult for us making two goals.

"But right now it doesn't make any sense to think about this match, we have to think of the Premier League and FA Cup.

"I wish all the best to Inter but obviously if I could choose, I would love that OL [former club Lyon] will win the Champions League."
