Michael Carrick delighted to see Dimitar Berbatov hitting form for Manchester United
Striker's goals valuable as season draws to close...
By Zack Wilson
Berbatov scored against Fulham at the weekend as well as playing a crucial role in both of United's other goals.
Having endured criticism from some quarters, Carrick is pleased that his colleague is showing the kind of form that earned him a £30.75 million move north from Tottenham Hotspur.
"Berba was terrific against Fulham," Carrick said, according to the Manchester Evening News.
"He has been excellent for a number of weeks now.
"At Wolves it was a big performance from him as he was up-front on his own.
"And on Sunday [against Fulham] he really deserved his goal after all his work and endeavour. He did terrificly for Wayne's second goal and his overall play was very good.
"He is hitting top form at the right time."
