Sunderland manager Steve Bruce was beaming with joy after watching his side record their first win of 2010 following the 4-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers.

The Black Cats gaffer told Sky Sports after the game: "It’s been a long cold winter, it’s been quite unbelievable, if you’d have said to me we would have to wait this long [for a win], I’d have told you 'no chance'.

"It’s what the Premier League is, when a little bit of luck deserts you, you need a performance and a victory to give a little bit of confidence, towards the end of the game everyone wants the ball and wants to get involved."

On the troubles that the club have had recently, going 14 games within a win, Bruce said: "If you look at last week we couldn’t get anybody to get involved, but you learn from it, thankfully we’ve got a result tonight and hopefully we’ll go on from there."
