Portsmouth manager Avram Grant: Off-field troubles are hindering our Premier League performances
Pompey boss concedes his side didn't deserve to win...
By Richard Parry
The former Chelsea boss conceded that although his side started the game well, the overall performance was poor.
"We started the game well, [we were] looking dangerous on the break until the first goal, then the second goal and then it was not easy to come back," Grant told Sky Sports.
"I think our performance today was not so good, our performances over the last months have been better."
The Israeli tactician highlighted the club going into administration and the looming nine-point deduction as demoralising elements to his side’s league performances, when compared to their FA Cup heroics.
"In the league we are sometimes concentrating on other things, but when we come onto the pitch we’re trying to do our best," insisted Grant.
"Maybe all that’s happening around the team can sometimes influence them, because maybe the players can’t think about the Saturday [league games] because of the nine points.
"But you know we didn’t play well enough today."
